My biggest seller this year has been vector book cover design. I started offering these at the start of the year, and I'm proud to announce that this service is now a listing all by itself! 🥰 People have been absolutely loving these unique book cover designs and they're so fun to create, I figured I'd throw a 65% off sale to thank you all for keeping me booked with these lovely designs!

What's the vector book cover design process?
Given that AI is everywhere, it can be tricky finding a designer who doesn't use it! I don't use it in any capacity, and I've decided to write down my process for these covers here, so you know exactly what to expect when ordering one of these designs.
- I create the initial sketch in Procreate (sometimes I'll use Photoshop, but mostly, Procreate). This sketch often looks blocky and, honestly, not great. There's usually a lack of detail and colours might be off - don't panic yet!
- Once the sketch is approved, I pull the artwork into Adobe Illustrator and start vectorising the artwork. To put it plainly, this is just a whole lot of clicking around in Illustrator. Vectors, created in Illustrator or something similar like Inkscape, have distinct clean edges that pull the whole look together, and look super clean. Colours are easily changed in Adobe Illustrator, so if you made a mistake and would prefer hair, clothes, skin, or anything else to be a different hue, then that's a quick fix!
- Once the vectors are created, I'll put the entire cover together (including the back, if you've ordered a paperback!). You'll receive your covers and the custom artwork I created for you in PNG format, so you can use them for marketing, merchandise, or anything else!
What are vector book covers best for?
Vector and hand-drawn covers are absolutely everywhere this year. Vectors are really versatile and they can be created for just about any genre, but I'd recommend using them on Romance, cozy mysteries, or, if you want something really stand-out, horror/thriller. If you want regular, non-vector art though, each genre has a preferred art style (fantasy loves semi-realism and realism, for example!).

I offer standard book cover design along with vectors (and soon, I'll be offering regular non-vector art, too), so if you're looking for a trusted artist, feel free to check out my book cover design services - with vector covers being 65% off until Tuesday 9th September.
